Montacre Farms

“Success means having the courage, the determination, and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be”

The Story Behind The Name..........

“Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek.”

The vision of Montacre Farms began in 1956 when a 14 year old Kathy Maine rescued a bay Quarter Horse/ Standardbred cross gelding. "Monty" stood 16 1/2HH and was skin and bones but had a spark in his eye. Constant exercise, hand mixed feed, and alot of love Kathy brought the 28yr old back to performance shape.

During the years proceeding his death at age 35, Monty loved hunting barrels, weaving between poles, flying over three foot rails and sprinting towards the finishline in a 1/4 mile race.

The close bond between a girl and her horse inspired the dream of having a farm where horses could be bred and trained in gentle surroundings and giving immortality to a very special friend......

Forty years later a young Jen purchased her first horse and began training it, with the help of her brother Chuck Osgood, for barrels. Armed with a gift of compassion, patience, and love of horses Jen is fullfilling her mother's dream of Montacre Farms!
